We are running a band fundraiser this month. Platinum MVP Cards should be coming home with your band student this week. Please ask about them! Information about the cards is available on our downloads page.
Band Booster’s Meeting is this Thursday at 6:00 pm – all are welcome!
Contributions from bakers would be appreciated at the evening concerts, Dec. 18th & 19th. Hope to see you at the concerts!
Jazz at the Castle 2014
Here’s our finished poster for “Jazz at the Castle”. Please feel free to print a copy and spread the word, if you don’t have time to get a copy from Mr. Morrell. The concert last year was excellent – and we have great expectations for another fine showing by some of the South Sound’s finest Jazz musicians, and our own Jazz Bands. Come for an entertaining evening, and support the Jazz Band program at Stadium!
Thanks to all the local companies and associations that sponsored the poster. We appreciate your support!
Thanks to all who sponsored the poster! It’s being printed now. Looking forward to having the new version to display for you soon.
Your name could be here!
The minutes from our October meeting are available. You’ll find them under the “About – Band Boosters” tab. There is one correction to the minutes: at the meeting, dates for the December concerts had been changed (to the 17th & 18th). Due to unforeseen circumstances, they have been changed back to their original dates of Dec. 18th for Cadet, Symphonic & Concert Band, and Dec. 19th for the Roadstars with Jazz Bands I & II. Both concerts will start at 7:00 p.m.
Thanks to everyone who brought in goodies for our bake sale at the October Concert. Besides some great music, and stellar soloists, what a great selection of treats for everyone to enjoy!
Great news from Mr. Morrell at last night’s concert: Jazz Band 1 is one of the twelve bands accepted into KPLU’s School of Jazz this year! The qualifying bands all come from schools in Western Washington and southern British Columbia. They will be mentored by a professional jazz musician, culminating in a professional recording session. KPLU plays several songs from these sessions on the air. Check out the program at http://schoolofjazz.org/
