Welcome to CHARMS

Dear Parents of Freshman, Sophomore and Junior Band Students,

We want to welcome you to CHARMS.  CHARMS is a very robust data base for band, band information and communication, music, equipment, student and parent records, and volunteer information.  As you know every data base is only as good as the information that goes in.  The first step in the use of CHARMS is to have you log on and update your student and family information.  The attached letter is all the instruction you need.  Please update your information by the end of the week.  We will begin using the system for year end information as well as information about next year’s trip to Europe.

Music in the Park – Volunteer Info and Sign Up Sheet

We need your help in staffing Music in the Parks on June 1st and June 8th.  We are hosting (not performing) a band festival and will receive $1000 for each day.  We need lots of volunteers to help us with the event.  We have several positions and multiple time slots.  They are broken out by hour but feel free to sign up for more than one hour or on each day if you would like.

It is very simple to sign up.  Use the link below to see the schedule and to put your name in.  Be careful, although the document is saved often it is easy to erase someone else’s name.

Invitational Festival at the Pantages

Stadium Concert Band participated in the first Invitational Festival, held on Friday in the beautiful Pantages Theater in downtown Tacoma. Other  high schools that sent bands, orchestras and wind ensembles, etc., included Union, Chiawana (Pasco), and Mercer Island. Bands had the opportunity to perform for a half hour, and then work with adjudicators from UW, PLU, UBC and a member of the Seattle Symphony & PNB Orchestra. All Stadium Band students had a great day downtown, with the opportunity to listen to, and be inspired by some amazing musicians. At the end of the day, awards were presented to best  soloist, and best section of every band.   Winners from Stadium included soloists Eliza Block (trumpet) and Zach MacLurg (trombone). Our best section on Friday, was the Trumpet group, including Eliza Block, Corey McGinnis, Sydney Davis, Spencer Manning, Garret Harp, and Amber Perry. Click on our Pictures Tab for some photos from this event.
